Da Lu
Prawn Noodle (Da Lu Xia Mian)
There are many reasons why we drive all the way
to the CBD for Da Lu Prawn Noodle:
·
The aromatic
broth of the Prawn Noodle paired with decent portions of kang kong (water
spinach), sliced boiled pork, deshelled prawns (so you don’t have to do it
yourself) makes a satisfying meal
·
They have
very, very good fried carrot cake! At least, we find it to be so! It is always
moist (or oily, either way still good) and laced with lots of dark sauce,
minced garlic and chye poh (salted radish).
·
The Chinese
rojak is pretty decent, a good crunchy addition to your meal. The vegetable
pieces are always fresh and coated with a richly flavoured fermented prawn
paste, makes a good side dish if you want more variety in your meal.
Our tip:
Order the Small Prawn Noodle ($5) so that you
have space in your stomach for carrot cake or Chinese rojak (or both!).
